Here are the cast of characters in Calling Home:

ISS Montserrat

Chief Engineer’s Mate Maria Sanchez Ochoa: Maria’s been working on a variety of freighters most of her life in the outer solar system.  She’s been on the ISS Montserrat for a couple of years under Captain LaSalle.  This was supposed to be her last freighter run before her marriage to Allen. She was previously dating Captain Jacobson when she was working on the ISS Safeguard until they had a nasty falling out.  Right now, she’s the only survivor on board the ISS Montserrat.

Jovian Flight Control

Senior Controller Allen Obermeyer: Maria’s fiancée.  He works at the Jovian Flight Control Center on the Jovian Station Rings run by The Zone Corporation.  He manages outer system interplanetary traffic with a small team of controllers he manages.

Jovian Flight Control Director Sandeep Zahin: He is the head of the JFC and is Allen’s his immediate supervisor.

Commander Julius Friis: Military Liaison between the United Alliance and the JFC.

ISS Safeguard

Captain David Jacobson: Captain of the ISS SafeGuard, and formerly dated Maria.  He made a massive mistake during the Vanguard Colony rescue near Saturn.  Several people died in a botched rescue attempt with a damaged passenger ship.
